Final Report Project Number 47986ci Decentralized Algorithms for Locally Interacting Mobile Robots
نویسنده
چکیده
1. FOREWORD This three year project has focused on the development of decentralized algorithms for teams of mobile robots that are to operate using local interaction rules in such a way that desired, global objectives are achieved. In particular, these robots are constrained through limitations on their sensing and communications capabilities. As such, the main problem under consideration is how to develop systematic communications and controls protocols in order to ensure that the team achieves some desired, global performance objective based solely on local interaction rules.

Decentralized Autonomous Navigation Strategies for Multi-Robot Search and Rescue
Use of multi-robot systems has many advantages over single robot systems in various applications. However, it comes with its own complexity and challenges. In this report, we try to improve the performance of existing approaches for search operations in multi-robot context. We propose three novel algorithms that are using a triangular grid pattern, i.e., robots certainly go through the vertices...

We worked on mobile assisted key managemen...
متن کاملDecentralized multi-robot encirclement of a 3D target with guaranteed collision avoidance
We present a control framework for achieving encirclement of a target moving in 3D using a multi-robot system. Three variations of a basic control strategy are proposed for different versions of the encirclement problem, and their effectiveness is formally established. An extension ensuring maintenance of a safe inter-robot distance is also discussed. The proposed framework is fully decentraliz...
متن کاملBiangular Circle Formation by Asynchronous Mobile Robots
Consider a community of simple autonomous robots (decentralized, asynchronous, no common coordinate system, no identities, no direct communication, no memory of the past, deterministic) moving freely in the plane and able to sense the positions of the other robots. We study the task of forming a absolutely symmetric formation – regular circle. Although we do not reach this goal for all initial ...
متن کاملDistributed Navigation of Multi-Robot Systems For Sensing Coverage
This research investigates decentralized control of mobile robots specifically for coverage problems. There are different approaches associated with decentralized control strategy for coverage control problems. We perform a comparative review of these approaches and use the approach based on simple local coordination rules. We investigate this extensively used nearest neighbour rule based appro...
